We’re delighted to announce that our Club Patron, Graham Griffiths has been awarded the England Hockey Lifetime Achievement Award. The awards recognises Griff’s stellar contribution to our sport spanning more than 50 years, particularly as manager of the Beeston Men’s 1st Team for 40 years and general manager of Highfields Sports Club (now Nottingham Hockey Centre).

As manager, Griff took Beeston from the lowest echelon’s of the Nottinghamshire leagues, to being a formidable force within Europe, notably defeating Amsterdam H&BC when the Men’s 1st Team were at their peak in the Euro Hockey League.

In more recent years, Griff served as Chairman of the Club between 2015 and 2024, overseeing huge changes in the Club, and putting the club in a good position to build up again in the top leagues over the next few years.

The award is incredibly well deserved, and we’re very proud. Griff – we couldn’t do it without you!
